This month’s Day Hawks outing was in the LA Arts District downtown. Mike and I had never been, so we were super excited to see another part of the city! And, of course, it’s always nice to explore a new part of a city with a group of people who have been there before…especially since they know all the good eats in the area as well! Mike and I did our due diligence at The Pie Hole and we can tell you that it is HIGHLY recommended!
We walked through the streets and photographed the art, which was incredible! We also wandered in and out of many co-op type shops where different artists have a space to sell their stuff. There was such a mixture, too – everything from hand crafted light fixtures to jewelry to candles! Going to the art district, I was expecting more galleries of paintings or photographs and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of mediums!
We ended our day at the 4th Street bridge which is behind Union Station and also spans the modest Los Angeles River. It was so neat back there with the train tracks and everything! All things considered, this is probably one of my all-time favorite photo walks! It was a wonderful place to photograph and I was REALLY happy with how my pics turned out!
