After living here for over five years, one of the places we had never been was Big Bear Lake. It’s about two hours from where we live, and it’s a very popular place to go in the winter. They have mountains, they get a LOT of snow, and they have tubing, skiing, snowboarding, etc during the winter. Mike and I wanted to go check it out before winter hit, so we used the fact that I had just bought a new camera (Nikon D850!) as an excuse to cruise up there and take some pictures!
It was absolutely beautiful! We hit up a lot of the scenic spots in town and then went to the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. This “zoo” takes in animals that can no longer survive on their own in the wild. Some of them come as orphaned babies, but most are sick or injured. It was a very cool place!
Perhaps most importantly, I was (and continue to be) incredibly happy with the Nikon D850! It takes amazing pictures and I can’t wait to see what it does in Africa next year!
